Sources TikTok UK, FoodNavigator and TMTPost. Context at the end of this article.
Malik Butchers, a butcher in the United Kingdom, broadcast for three hours on TikTok LIVE and sold 8,000 pounds worth of meat. In the shop, the same figure takes three to four days. The number comes from TikTok's own UK announcement of July 2026, along with the context. LIVE sales in the UK are growing 55 percent year on year, more than 6,000 shows run there every day, and 300,000 small businesses sell through the platform.
The market behind it is growing faster than almost any other category right now. FoodNavigator puts UK social commerce at around 16 billion pounds by 2028. 93 percent of British TikTok users have already engaged with TikTok Shop, and 88 percent of those discover new brands there. The viral food trends of the year are matcha, Dubai chocolate, bubble tea and pistachio. All drinks and indulgence topics.
Coffee and tea have long been running through the channel when they can be shipped. Chamberlain Coffee sells coffee and matcha directly through TikTok Shop in the US, with the matcha line running as a bestseller there and in retail at the same time. Little Moons remains the British reference for food gone viral. Bird & Blend Tea Co shows that classic tea finds a TikTok audience too. And at TikTok Shop's State of Consumer event in London, two drinks brands, Saicho and MOJU, pitched in front of retail and capital.
The pattern is always the same. Beans, powder, cans and pouches are shipped goods. They work like beauty, with tasting instead of texture demos. Anyone with a roastery, a tea brand or a drink needs no new mechanism. It is described in our myth check.
Cafés have a problem no roastery has. Their product is fresh, local and cannot be shipped. Asia solved it by not selling the drink at all.
Mixue, the largest bubble tea chain in the world with around 45,000 stores in China and about 5,000 abroad, sells vouchers directly through TikTok in Indonesia. The guest buys in the app, receives a QR code and redeems it at the counter. Luckin Coffee runs always-on selling streams on Douyin, the Chinese TikTok, converting viewers into coupon purchases.
Why this is clever only shows on second glance. No shipping, no cold chain, no returns. The voucher costs nothing to produce. The show creates the impulse, redemption brings the guest physically into the store, and once there they buy more than one coffee. Live commerce becomes a footfall machine for the floor.
Three routes work today regardless. First, shipped goods, meaning beans, tea, syrup, merchandise and accessories through the shop, with the broadcast from your own store as the stage. Second, the broadcast as a footfall driver without a shop connection, because the way into the store needs no buy button. Third, watching what TikTok GO brings to Europe. Bookings and restaurant deals inside the app already run officially in the US, Indonesia and Japan, and that route would make the voucher model legal here. The background is in our TikTok GO analysis.
That is exactly what we build at 321.live. The show, the hosts and the shop operations. For food and drinks the matching page is Food & Beverage.
No. TikTok's EU policy on prohibited products bans vouchers, certificates and electronic codes redeemable for a fixed value. The Asian model, where cafés sell vouchers through the app and guests redeem them at the counter via QR code, cannot currently be replicated in Europe. What remains sellable are shippable products such as beans, tea or merchandise.
Yes. The British butcher Malik Butchers sold 8,000 pounds worth of meat in a three-hour LIVE, as much as in three to four days in the shop. Fresh goods need pickup or local delivery instead of shipping, but the selling mechanics of the broadcast work identically.
In the US, Chamberlain Coffee sells coffee and matcha directly through TikTok Shop. In the UK, tea brands such as Bird & Blend are active, and at TikTok Shop's State of Consumer event two drinks brands, Saicho and MOJU, pitched in front of retail and investors. In Asia, Mixue and Luckin Coffee sell through voucher models in livestreams.
TikTok GO brings bookings and restaurant deals directly into the app and runs officially in the US, Indonesia and Japan. If the programme comes to Europe, the Asian voucher model becomes properly possible here. Cafés that can broadcast and have built an audience by then start with a head start.
